The ZeroMOUSE™ detects when your cat approaches the flap and checks if it’s bringing prey.

As your cat nears the flap, a motion sensor reacts. When the cat passes through the tunnel, ZeroMOUSE™ takes several pictures of the cat’s face and sends them to an AI for analysis.

If the AI detects no prey, everything works as usual – the flap opens. However, if your cat is carrying prey in its mouth, ZeroMOUSE™ sends a signal that prevents the flap from opening.

This system is based on a patented technology that specifically prevents cats from bringing their prey into the house.

ZeroMOUSE™ is a specially designed adapter that installs into your microchip cat flap and prevents your cat from bringing prey into the house.

In addition to ZeroMOUSE™, you will need:
- A compatible microchip cat flap (RFID-enabled).
- A USB-C power adapter.
- A suitable USB-C charging cable for the installation location (e.g., without fabric coating).

With these components, your cat flap is fully equipped to keep unwanted "gifts" outside.

Yes, absolutely! You can have multiple cats, and the system will work for all of them without any limitations.

Yes, ZeroMOUSE™ 2.0 requires a stable Wi-Fi connection to function properly.

Cats usually adjust quickly to the changed behavior of the flap (opening time of about 3 seconds), even if it feels unfamiliar at first. Over time, they learn that they cannot enter the house with prey, which gradually reduces the number of prey attempts.

We are also working on further reducing detection time. Currently, the opening time is around 3 seconds. In the future, we aim to integrate the detection function directly into ZeroMOUSE™ to make it independent of Wi-Fi. The first steps in this direction are already in development.

Once prey is detected, the flap's behavior changes.

ZeroMOUSE™ checks every 5 seconds whether movement is still detected in front of the tunnel—up to 12 times. If movement continues, the flap remains locked.

After these 12 checks, a new set of images is taken, and the process restarts. This prevents the cat from bypassing the system.

If you would like to adjust the time intervals, our support team can configure this for you. In the future, this will also be adjustable directly in the app.

In some cases, no event appears in the app even when your cat enters through the flap. This happens when the cat's face is not fully captured by the camera. In this case, ZeroMOUSE™ cannot reliably determine whether the cat is carrying prey and allows entry. These instances are filtered out and not saved in the app.

However, if prey was detected earlier, the flap remains locked, and the cat is not allowed inside.

1x red, 1x green: When plugged into the power outlet, your ZeroMOUSE™ performs an LED test.

Continuous green blinking: Your ZeroMOUSE™ is in setup mode.

2x red, short pause: Your ZeroMOUSE™ has lost the WiFi connection. Make sure that the WiFi signal is strong enough and not disturbed. If the WiFi configuration of your home network has changed, for example the Wi-Fi name (SSID) or the password, reset the ZeroMOUSE, delete it from the mobile app and re-add it with the new credentials.

Long red blinking, long pause: A hardware issue has been detected. Disconnect your ZeroMOUSE™ from power, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in. If the blinking code appears again, please contact support.

In some cases, the ZeroMOUSE™ RFID signal may have been mistakenly stored in the cat flap. ZeroMOUSE™ sends a foreign chip signal to block the flap when prey is detected. However, if this signal is saved in the flap’s memory, the flap will open every time ZeroMOUSE™ is triggered.

TEST
Place your hand inside the cat flap. If it opens, the ZeroMOUSE™ RFID signal has been incorrectly learned.

SOLUTION
1. Unplug ZeroMOUSE™ from power.
2. Clear the memory of your cat flap.
3. Re-register the RFID chip in your cat flap.
4. Plug ZeroMOUSE™ back in.

"No prey detected"
Correct: No prey is visible in the images, and at least one image clearly shows the cat's empty mouth.

Incorrect: Prey is visible OR the cat’s empty mouth is not clearly identifiable.

"Prey detected"
Correct: Prey is clearly visible in the images.

Incorrect: No prey is visible.

"Undecidable"
Correct: No prey is visible, but the cat's mouth is also not clearly shown. This means there is a possibility that the cat is carrying prey that was not captured in the images. The AI cannot make a definitive decision.

Incorrect: Either prey is clearly visible (Prey detected) or the cat's empty mouth is unmistakably shown (No prey detected).

During a power outage, your cat flap operates as it did before, without ZeroMOUSE™. Stray cats remain outside, and your cat can enter freely—whether carrying prey or not. Once power is restored, ZeroMOUSE™ resumes normal operation.
